#Udom2019: Asong Community In Mkpat Enin Adopts Gov. Udom Emmanuel For 2019

The people of Asong in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area have endorsed Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term.
They took the decision at a grand reception organised in honour of their illustrious son and youth activist, Mr Cyril Umoren,who is the National Coordinator of PDP Defenders.

Speaking at the event, the Village Head, Etteidung James P. Ekpo said the people of Asong were proud of the development strides of Governor Emmanuel, whom he described as God-fearing and prudent manager of resources. He lauded the governor for constructing all the internal roads in Asong village.
He commended the Governor for promoting unity and love among PDP Local Government Chairmanship Aspirants who lost in the December 2017 poll.

“It is true that not everyone who contests an election must win, but that doesn’t make them loose their worth, quality, potentials & what they are capable of doing for their Community, Local Government and State in general. I thank Governor Udom for recognizing this fact and placing our son on a platform of respect and reward”. Etteidung Ekpo said.
The Village Head expressed satisfaction over the three years administration of Governor Emmanuel, saying that despite the economic recession, the Governor has been able to clear backlogs of salary arrears and pensions to civil servants in addition to execution of projects across the State, noting that as a retiree he was particularly glad about this development.

A member of the Village Council, Chief Monday Isidore who represented the Chairman of the Village Council, Chief Hilary Ekefre also spoke at the event and had this to say,
‘We are a living testimony of Cyril’s involvement in the affairs of the State and PDP as the only party in the State even after the Local Government Elections. We are happy that the Governor has you and our interest at heart. We are interested in Governor’s reelection because he is interested in us.”
Another representative of the community, the Deputy Youth President who stood in for the Community expressed the youth’s resolve to massively vote and return Governor Udom to hilltop mansion come 2019 polls.

The celebrator, Mr. Cyril Umoren addressed the people on various political and developmental issues, including the time table for the upcoming general election and Governor Udom Emmanuel’s second term bid.
He briefed his community members on the level of the Governor’s interest in Local Government Chairmanship and Councillorship aspirants in the last Local Government elections, stating that their relevance cannot be underestimated.
Umoren thanked the people for standing by the Governor in the last three years in office, urging them not to relent in their efforts towards ensuring that he returns to the Hilltop Mansion come 2019.
He urged them to partake in the ongoing continuous voters exercise by going out to get registered.

I am here today to tell you that Governor Udom Emmanuel will continue to keep his promise to you all & it’s expedient that we all get registered to return him back to the Hilltop Mansion for a second term.

The youth activist said.

Highpoint of the event was the inauguration of Hon. Cyril Umoren as Chairman, Asong Development Committee as well as handing over of project sites for the construction of a town hall and a market square in Asong to him.
