As the 2019 general election draws near, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo, has reiterated the party’s resolve to conduct free, fair and credible primaries.
Obong Ekpo made this known on Wednesday at the party secretariat when Chapter Chairmen of PDP, members of the State House of Assembly and National Assembly met with the State leadership of the party.
Speaking, Obong Ekpo, who is also Chairman of PDP State Chairmen, emphasized that “the party is much ready and willing to conduct free, fair and credible primaries in preparation for the forthcoming general elections, assuring that “the party will produce only suitable candidates that will be able to win elections for the party at all levels and positions.”
He used the medium to admonish all party faithfuls to go to their respective Chapters, Wards and Units to carry out their sensitization, mobilization and endorsement rallies in honour of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Obong Ekpo advised the leadership of the various political groups to be devoted and committed in their campaign and support to our brothers and sisters who have indicated interest and aspiration in the forthcoming elections, maintaining that the party will adhere strictly to zoning as enshrined in the Constitution of the party and that they should eschew fetish practices and vices.
